first steel part you should consider replacement on your vfc m249 gbb

there are tons of steel parts from either dna or 3rd party for vfc m249 gbb. I would rank this as top on my list. This port door is doing the job to hold gas supply in place by using its teeth to bite on the groove of supply insert. the og aluminum port door's teeth would wear out after supply insert goes in and out. This steel one would last for a very long time if not forever ( the supply insert is aluminum, thus i assume port door would beat the insert ).
